Engineering Manager - Electrical (Vehicle Systems)

Salary: $92,600–$154,400 per year

What you will do

• Lead and manage a team of engineers, designers, and technicians, including potential people leaders.
• Direct engineering activities, project schedules, budgets, department forecasts, and selected P&L responsibilities.
• Provide technical leadership for electrical engineering, vehicle controls, and embedded systems development.
• Perform and review complex electrical analysis, calculations, designs, validation, troubleshooting, and technical reporting.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, internal functions, and engineering leadership to resolve technical issues and deliver innovative vehicle solutions.
• Coach engineers, establish development plans, and improve engineering methods, procedures, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• At least eight years of related engineering experience.
• Experience leading engineering work and making decisions affecting projects, budgets, and multiple functions.
• Ability to analyze customer requirements and develop electrical systems for heavy-duty vehicles.
• Strong communication, technical decision-making, problem-solving, and supervisory skills.
• Regular attendance and ability to work routine shift hours with occasional overtime, weekend work, or shift rotation.

Nice to have

• Degree in electrical engineering.
• Programming languages and controls software design experience.
• Controller Area Network (CAN), SAE J1939, or vehicle networking experience.
• Electrical troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and wire harness design expertise.
• Process improvement experience.
