Senior Backend Engineer - AI/ML Systems

Location: Hybrid in Tel Aviv, Israel; office attendance required three days per week, Tuesday through Thursday.

What you will do

• Design and develop ML- and LLM-powered solutions for product features and internal workflows.
• Own projects from concept through model training, evaluation, production integration, and monitoring.
• Build scalable APIs and backend services using distributed systems, microservices, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architecture.
• Integrate AI capabilities into user-facing features and backend services in collaboration with product, engineering, and operations stakeholders.
• Apply CI/CD, observability, and cloud infrastructure best practices while operating high-throughput services.
• Communicate technical progress, challenges, and outcomes to technical and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a Backend Developer, Data Engineer, or ML Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Deep expertise in scalable, resilient, fault-tolerant, and secure backend systems.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, microservices, asynchronous processing, event-driven architecture, and high-throughput production APIs.
• Experience leading technical design reviews and making architectural tradeoffs.
• Ability to work from the Tel Aviv office three days per week.

Nice to have

• Deep experience with LLMs and frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Hugging Face, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
• Experience building and scaling LLM-powered applications.
• Familiarity with AWS and DevOps practices, including CI/CD, monitoring, and infrastructure as code.
• Exposure to NoSQL databases and real-time data-processing pipelines.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
