Solar Technician Lead

Location: Ocotillo Wells, California, United States; hybrid role with daily in-person collaboration at the site and occasional night or non-standard working hours as required.

Salary: $90,000–$105,000 USD annually, plus eligibility for an annual cash bonus.

Clean energy company operating a large portfolio of solar, wind, battery storage, and conventional power generation assets across the United States.

What you will do

• Maintain PV solar plant availability, operability, contractual performance, and budget compliance.
• Manage plant maintenance programs with emphasis on safety, planning, scheduling, and preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Supervise and assist with troubleshooting and repairs of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, control, and PV systems.
• Monitor third-party and manufacturer maintenance work, inspect completed repairs, and ensure quality standards.
• Manage spare parts, tools, equipment, supplies, operating records, manuals, and work instructions.
• Communicate operational issues with management and site personnel and support subcontractor and vendor negotiations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of commercial solar plant operations experience or 5 years of equivalent instrumentation and controls or medium/high-voltage electrical experience.
• Qualification to perform routine and emergency operations at an electric generation facility and high-voltage switchyard.
• Experience with plant systems and computerized maintenance management systems, including SAP.
• Knowledge of analog and digital instrumentation, control systems, electrical and mechanical drawings, equipment clearance, troubleshooting, repair, and plant safety procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and demonstrated ability to maintain PV solar sites at high availability.

Nice to have

• Technical school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
• Journeyman electrician qualification.
