Senior Development Engineer (Solar PV/BESS)

Location: Louisville, Colorado, United States; up to 15% travel to project locations and partner offices.

Salary: $113,000–$141,525 per year, plus an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Qualify solar PV and battery storage project opportunities and evaluate their technical feasibility.
• Model energy production and battery dispatch using PVSYST, Helioscope, Plant Predict, Excel, and Matlab.
• Perform remote and in-person site evaluations, technical due diligence, pricing, and value engineering.
• Create preliminary plant designs, site layouts, single-line diagrams, and equipment recommendations.
• Support RFPs, greenfield development, acquisitions, and conceptual through 30% design studies.
• Develop technical proposal deliverables and improve project evaluation, vendor review, and development processes.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in engineering or an equivalent technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, design, analysis, and construction.
• Proficiency with renewable energy modeling tools including PVSYST, HOMER, SAM, Helioscope, and Plant Predict.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and advanced Excel.
• Experience with photovoltaic and battery storage systems ranging from 2MW to 500MW.
• Ability to work in Louisville, Colorado, United States and travel up to 15%.

Nice to have

• Experience with utility power systems.
• Master’s degree in engineering or business.
• NABCEP PV Installation Professional or PV Design Specialist certification.
• OSHA 10-hour or comparable job-site safety certification.
• Experience with SketchUp or Skelion.
