Transition Operations Director (AI)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid approach with teams in the office around four days a week. This is a UK-based role and requires the right to work in the United Kingdom.

What you will do

• Develop and own end-to-end transition strategies and programme plans for new clients, including scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Lead complex, multi-market client transitions across client leadership, finance, legal, HR, technology, and wider WPP partners.
• Act as the senior point of contact for client executives and internal leadership, managing communication and expectations.
• Design and implement change management strategies supporting the adoption of new processes, tools, and team structures.
• Identify and mitigate transition risks, manage issues, and develop contingency plans for smooth client onboarding.
• Build, lead, and mentor high-performing transition teams in a matrix environment.

Requirements

• Extensive senior experience in transition, programme management, or project management within a large-scale media agency, consultancy, or complex global organization.
• Proven success leading complex, multi-market transitions or projects for large global clients.
• Deep knowledge of project, programme, and change management methodologies, such as PMP or PRINCE2.
• Exceptional senior stakeholder management, communication, influencing, and consensus-building skills.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience managing complex project budgets and profitability.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom is required.

• Significant experience within an agency group operating across multiple markets.
• Familiarity with AI tools and AI-powered support for project management and tracking.
