Staff Data Scientist: Intelligent Process Automation Solutions Designer (AI)

Location: San Diego, California or Mountain View, California

Base pay: $185,500–$251,000 per year in San Diego.

What you will do

• Design and deploy intelligent process automation solutions across Customer Success and adjacent business units.
• Architect integrations between CRM systems, data pipelines, APIs, AI services, and AWS infrastructure.
• Build, train, validate, and deploy classical machine learning and LLM-based models, including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and RAG.
• Develop agentic AI systems and LLM-based workflows for process orchestration, text understanding, and automation triggering.
• Build Python automation frameworks, scripts, microservices, and Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines.
• Partner with business leaders, product managers, and data engineers to define automation opportunities, metrics, governance, and ROI.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building, training, and deploying functional models using classical machine learning and LLM-based approaches.
• Strong Python programming experience.
• Experience with process automation, process mining, data pipelines, APIs, system integrations, and cloud-native tools.
• Expertise with fine-tuning LLMs and building agentic AI systems that interact with APIs, data, and end users.
• Proficiency with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions, and CloudFormation.
• Experience with Jenkins, microservices, MSAAS architectures, event-driven automation, data governance, and security principles.

Nice to have

• Experience with JavaScript, Go, or similar programming languages.
• Exposure to contact center, CRM, or customer service technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
