Forward Deployed Data Scientist (AI)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; hybrid work with at least three days per week in the office

Salary: $206,600–$229,000 annual base salary for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area, plus potential bonus or sales incentive and RSUs.

What you will do

• Embed with strategic customers to understand support workflows, data, and business challenges.
• Design and implement data-driven AI solutions that automate and scale customer support.
• Guide customers on measurement and AI adoption to maximize Fin's value.
• Partner with Sales, Success, Product, and Engineering on successful deployments and product feedback loops.
• Prototype, test, and scale AI-powered tools that improve Fin adoption and customer impact.
• Travel and work on-site with customers to build relationships and identify insights.

Requirements

• Proven experience applying data science to real-world business problems and measurable outcomes.
• Excellent SQL, production-aware Python, and analytical and statistical methods.
• Experience with AI/ML evaluation, LLM-driven applications, or conversational AI.
• Strong collaboration, communication, adaptability, ownership, and systems-thinking skills.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States is required.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site with customers.

Nice to have

• Experience in technical consulting, customer-facing analytics, or SaaS product data science.
• Experience reframing business problems and applying AI to scale data science workflows.
