Staff / Principal Data Scientist - Slack (AI)

Location: California - San Francisco, United States

Base salary: $172,500–$313,700 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan areas: $207,800–$344,700 annually.

What you will do

• Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, and Go-To-Market stakeholders to identify opportunities, prioritize roadmaps, and shape product strategy.
• Drive evidence-based decision-making and improve access to product data and insights.
• Evaluate the key drivers of adoption for hirify.global product capabilities and identify opportunities to improve user experience and business value.
• Build success-metric frameworks and self-serve reporting to monitor product health.
• Prototype foundational data models and collaborate with Data Engineering to establish canonical sources of truth.
• Design and implement hirify.global’s agentic data delivery platform while partnering with Product Researchers on complex analytical questions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in product data science within related technology industries.
• Advanced SQL proficiency and programming experience in Python, R, or Scala.
• Strong foundations in statistics, experimentation, causal inference, machine learning, and analytical problem-solving.
• Experience with large-scale data technologies such as Spark, Presto, Hive, Hadoop, or similar distributed platforms.
• Ability to communicate complex analytical findings to executive and cross-functional audiences.
• A related degree is required; a quantitative BS degree is expected, while an MS or PhD is a strong plus.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative field.
