Lead/Architect Data Engineer (Apache Airflow/AWS)

What you will do

• Execute a pilot migration of selected Apache Airflow DAGs from Astronomer to AWS Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow (MWAA).
• Validate the migration approach through hands-on implementation, testing, and technical analysis.
• Identify and document technical constraints, dependencies, compatibility considerations, and unresolved issues.
• Troubleshoot migration issues and develop practical workarounds or alternative technical approaches.
• Assess pilot outcomes and refine the approach for future migration activities.
• Communicate findings, risks, recommendations, and implementation guidance to engineering and architecture stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, including designing and supporting production data workflows.
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Airflow, including DAG development, configuration, troubleshooting, and workflow orchestration.
• Practical experience with AWS and AWS Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow (MWAA).
• Experience migrating or modernizing data orchestration platforms and workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Upper-intermediate or higher English proficiency required.
