What you will do

• Manage moderate to large exposure claims involving complex toxic tort, latent injury, sexual misconduct, and environmental matters.
• Research policies, analyze coverage, prepare recommendations, and communicate coverage positions to policyholders or representatives.
• Investigate liability, evaluate damages, apply relevant legal concepts, and develop recommendations for claim resolution.
• Develop litigation and file management strategies, including counsel and expert selection, settlement terms, mediations, and trials.
• Manage account relationships, financial exposure estimates, budgets, reserves, claim files, and administrative compliance.
• Support staff development through training, mentoring, and interviewing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; a high school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 3 years of experience in claim handling, legal, insurance, coverage advice, or environmental fields; 2 years is the minimum requirement.
• Strong analytical thinking, communication, judgment, decision-making, teamwork, accountability, customer focus, and relationship management.
• Knowledge of regulatory and claim environments, planning, organization, technology, and departmental practices.
• Insurance license(s) may be required and generally must be obtained within three months of starting.
