Director, Liability

Location: Phoenix, Arizona, United States. Hybrid schedule with in-office work three days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Salary: $160,000–$185,000 annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and manage internal liability experts supporting carrier partners and claims outcomes.
• Develop special handling instructions and training for carrier partners covering peer-to-peer car sharing, hirify.global processes, and protection plans.
• Lead strategies to reduce liability claims costs and improve operational performance.
• Coordinate hirify.global’s litigation responses and partner with counsel on discovery, depositions, negotiations, litigation strategy, and trials.
• Work with Actuarial, Data, Claims, Legal, Finance, and Risk teams to analyze liability trends and strengthen controls.
• Monitor liability KPIs, trends, and vendor performance and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in liability claims, including extensive experience with litigated claims.
• Deep understanding of third-party auto claims and litigation across jurisdictions in the United States.
• Strong knowledge of insurance coverage, policy and contract interpretation, defense costs, negotiation strategies, and litigation processes.
• Experience managing employees and external partners and implementing operational strategies with measurable results.
• Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and escalation-management skills.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, CRM and case management systems, AI tools, and other management systems; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

• JD degree.
• Insurance credentials such as CPCU, SCLA, or similar designations.
