Communications Manager (Insurance)

Location: Bloomington, Illinois, United States

Base pay: $114,000–$156,750 per year, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Lead internal communications strategy and planning aligned with enterprise priorities, corporate objectives, values, brand, and compliance standards.
• Advise executive leadership and business teams on message strategy, positioning, development, and timing.
• Oversee the creation, editing, and distribution of internal and external communications across appropriate channels.
• Develop style and content guidelines and apply editorial judgment to improve audience understanding and engagement.
• Collaborate with marketing, client advocacy, legal, and other stakeholders on public image and external communications.
• Maintain disaster recovery communications plans, employee contact information, and communications for non-recovery employees during disasters.

Requirements

• Experience managing internal and external communications teams and programs.
• Experience with employee communications, media relations, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong project management and consulting skills, including translating business priorities into communication strategies.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience collaborating across functions and influencing diverse audiences.
• Typically 8 or more years of relevant experience, education, and training, including management experience.
