Senior Manager, Corporate Communications

Location: Hybrid role requiring presence in the Washington, D.C. or New York City office at least 3 days per week and commuting distance to one of these locations.

Salary: $140,000–$155,000 USD annually, plus benefits.

hirify.global is a mission-driven multimedia organization producing news, information, and music programming in partnership with hundreds of independent public radio stations.

What you will do

• Develop and execute corporate communications strategies supporting hirify.global’s priorities, reputation, mission, and impact.
• Plan communications for major announcements, strategic initiatives, milestones, and executive appearances.
• Prepare executives for speaking engagements and interviews, including messages, briefing documents, speeches, town hall remarks, op-eds, and social content.
• Lead corporate media relations, proactive media strategy, announcement planning, press responses, and rapid response for sensitive coverage.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders, reporters, conference organizers, member stations, donors, partners, policymakers, and the public.
• Coach communications staff, manage workloads, set priorities, and support a collaborative, inclusive, high-performing team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, executive communications, public affairs, or strategic communications.
• Experience leading communications strategies for complex organizations and supporting senior executives.
• Exceptional writing, editing, messaging, judgment, diplomacy, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience managing sensitive communications and organizational issues.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and people management experience.
• Ability to work from commuting distance of Washington, D.C. or New York City and attend the office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting executive leadership teams and Boards.
• Familiarity with issues management and crisis communications.
• Experience leading cross-functional communications initiatives.
• Equivalent hands-on experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
