Production Supervisor (Robotics)

Location: Watertown, Massachusetts, United States. On-site role on the Sonny V2 production line.

What you will do

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the Sonny V2 production line and supervise assembly and test technicians.
• Work hands-on with Hardware Engineering and Production Engineering during prototype and pre-production builds to become the product expert.
• Plan daily and weekly production, manage work-in-progress and line balance, track materials readiness, and report output, first-pass yield, and delivery status.
• Develop and validate work instructions, test procedures, fixtures, error-proofing, and traceability processes in ION MES.
• Build field-replaceable-unit and spare-parts kits, maintaining inventory, packaging, labeling, and production cadence.
• Drive corrective actions, defect reduction, continuous improvement, and cross-functional coordination across Supply Chain, Engineering, and Deployment.

Requirements

• 5+ years leading technicians in a production or manufacturing environment as a lead or supervisor, including scheduling, training, and performance feedback.
• Experience translating production schedules into daily work, tracking material readiness, and meeting delivery commitments.
• Experience bringing up a new product or production line.
• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, and root-cause problem solving in a production environment.
• Experience using an MES or ERP for work orders, traceability, and inventory.
• Strong electromechanical assembly and test skills, including the ability to read drawings, BOMs, and test logs.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
• Experience in robotics, automation, medical devices, aerospace, or other low-volume, high-complexity electromechanical assembly.
• Prototype or pilot-build experience with Engineering, spare-parts or service-kit experience, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Experience managing frequent engineering changes and new product introduction.
