Production Supervisor (Manufacturing)

Location: Sterling Heights, Michigan, United States; onsite production-floor role

What you will do

• Manage small production teams and allocate manpower across the assigned production area.
• Own safety, quality, throughput, cost, and team morale objectives.
• Analyze production losses, bottlenecks, alarms, quality KPIs, and fault conditions to improve performance and reduce downtime.
• Lead continuous improvement and kaizen activities focused on safety, cost, quality, throughput, and waste reduction.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members while managing absenteeism and responding to production interruptions.
• Coordinate support groups and apply knowledge of manufacturing equipment, conveyors, automation systems, robotics, and maintenance concepts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of supervisory experience in a high-volume environment is preferred.
• Ability to work any shift, including first, second, and third shifts, and overtime in a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
• Strong organizational, written, oral communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to spend extended periods on the production floor, walk throughout the facility, and climb stairs as required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• Experience with welding, resistance spot welding, robotic applications, robotics controls, automation systems, conveyors, or stamping.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing, body shop operations, or highly automated manufacturing environments.
• Previous union experience and knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement systems.
