Associate Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; primarily in-office at the Santa Clara office

Annual base salary: $115,000–$173,000 USD

What you will do

• Support configuration, tuning, and routine health checks of security tooling across cloud and endpoint environments.
• Build and maintain Python scripts and small integrations for API data collection, reporting, findings cleanup, and tool connectivity.
• Use Splunk and other telemetry platforms to run queries, validate data sources, and support investigations with Security Operations.
• Participate in security design and configuration reviews.
• Maintain accurate security standards, diagrams, runbooks, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience.
• Working knowledge of operating systems, especially Linux, TCP/IP networking, authentication, encryption, and least privilege.
• Hands-on exposure through coursework, internships, labs, CTFs, personal projects, or open-source contributions.
• Experience working at a command line, reading and modifying code, and using a public cloud environment such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Basic Python or similar-language scripting ability, with willingness to develop production-quality automation.
• Methodical troubleshooting, clear technical communication, curiosity, and ability to document processes for cross-functional partners.
