Principal Cloud Security Engineer (Cloud Security)

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. U.S. citizenship or other eligibility to access ITAR-regulated technology is required for U.S. roles.

Base salary: $152,300–$165,000 USD per year, plus company stock and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and monitor security controls across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and FaaS environments.
• Develop custom cybersecurity automation and secure cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and business-critical systems.
• Conduct security assessments, risk analyses, design reviews, audits, and compliance reviews.
• Implement and manage identity and access management for cloud resources and applications.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to integrate security into SDLC, DevOps, and MLOps processes.
• Provide guidance on incident response, compliance, security awareness, documentation, plans, and proofs of concept.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience with Bash, PowerShell, Python, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 16+ years of total work experience.
• Proven cloud security architecture, design, and implementation experience across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Experience with cloud security tools, vulnerability management, CLI scanning, Git-based version control, networking, encryption, and secure communication protocols.
• Experience with U.S. government compliance frameworks including CMMC, NIST, and DISA STIG, as well as ITIL and change review systems.
• U.S. citizenship or applicable authorization to access ITAR-regulated technology is required.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or equivalent cybersecurity experience.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud, Azure GCC High, CI/CD security, hybrid cloud engineering, SAST/DAST, secrets management, HSMs, cloud forensics, or security log platforms.
• Participation in community cybersecurity organizations.
