Senior Manager, Accounting

Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Salary: $155,000–$205,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Maintain the general ledger and evolve reporting segments and financial structures as the business grows.
• Own fixed assets and construction-in-progress, including capitalization policy, project cost tracking, depreciation, and R&D capitalization decisions.
• Prepare leadership and investor reporting and coordinate annual financial statements, external audits, and tax advisors.
• Develop technical accounting memos covering equity compensation, leases, revenue, and capitalization under US GAAP.
• Automate workflows, implement accounting systems, strengthen controls, and build the accounting team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of accounting experience with hands-on ownership of month-end close and financial reporting.
• 3+ years managing and developing accountants.
• Experience building accounting processes, controls, and team structures in a startup, high-growth, hardware, manufacturing, or capital-intensive environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, fixed assets, capitalization, and technical accounting documentation.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Ramp, as well as Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• CPA license.
• ERP or systems implementation experience.
• Cost accounting, inventory-intensive manufacturing, VC-backed company, public accounting, or external audit experience.
