UI/UX Designer (Medtech)

Location: Remote in the United States, or hybrid in the San Francisco Bay Area with onsite work 3 days per week for local candidates. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States full-time or be eligible for a sponsorship path hirify.global can support.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 per year, adjusted based on experience, skills, market benchmarks, internal equity, and candidate location.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end visual and interaction design for web, iOS, Android, and connected-device experiences.
• Design user flows, dashboards, and data visualizations that turn complex clinical data into actionable insights.
• Create and scale a design language and system with component libraries, design tokens, versioning, and accessibility modes.
• Conduct user research, interviews, Voice of Customer research, usability testing, and post-design validation with Product Management.
• Produce high-fidelity designs, interaction and motion concepts, documentation, redlines, and engineering handoff specifications.
• Lead cross-functional design reviews and scale design operations in a regulated medical-device environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, HCI, Interaction Design, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of digital UI/UX or product design experience with shipped web and mobile products, including healthcare platforms involving HIPAA and PHI constraints.
• Strong knowledge of native mobile design standards, WCAG accessibility, inclusive design, and accessibility-driven interfaces.
• Familiarity with IEC 62366, FDA Human Factors guidance, regulated documentation, version control, and Agile/Scrum collaboration.
• Proficiency in Figma, including components, auto layout, variables and modes, Dev Mode, prototypes, and design documentation.
• Experience with design systems, usability testing, and front-end collaboration using HTML/CSS, React, or SwiftUI.

Nice to have

• Experience designing wearable or embedded-device interfaces.
• Experience with formative and summative usability testing for FDA submissions or CE marking.
• Experience designing AI/ML-enabled or adaptive software in FDA-regulated products.
• Comfort building interactive prototypes in code or with AI prototyping tools.
