Senior Solutions Engineer (Identity Security)

Location: Chicago, Illinois

Annual on-target compensation (OTE): $200,000–$275,000 USD for candidates located in California excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, or Washington.

What you will do

• Lead technical pre-sales cycles for large, complex enterprise customers.
• Run discovery conversations to identify customer challenges related to risk, cost, and operational efficiency.
• Translate identity and security architectures into clear business value for executive and technical stakeholders.
• Present Okta’s platform, integrations, scalable architecture, regulatory compliance, and availability to technical buyers.
• Help customers discover unmanaged AI agents, assess their risks, and establish centralized identity controls.
• Partner with Enterprise Account Executives to overcome objections and drive technical closure on complex B2B SaaS deals.

Requirements

• 8+ years of total pre-sales experience in a customer-facing Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or Pre-Sales Engineer role.
• Proven success securing technical wins and attaining quotas with large, complex enterprise accounts.
• Strong executive communication, presentation, storytelling, consultative selling, and stakeholder-influence skills.
• Broad knowledge of Identity Security, including identity governance, privileged access management, threat protection, modern authentication protocols, and Zero Trust Architecture.
• Expertise in or strong knowledge of SAML, OIDC, SSF, and identity security architecture.
• Ability to work from Chicago, Illinois.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience positioning Identity Governance and Administration, PAM, and identity security automation solutions.
• Experience with AI tools, AI agents, LLM integrations, and non-human identity security.
