Director, Finance - Connected Products (IoT)

Location: Hybrid schedule based in Deerfield, Illinois, with work from home on Mondays and Fridays

Base salary: $140,000–$220,000 USD annually, plus an annual bonus or role-based sales incentive plan

What you will do

• Build financial planning, forecasting, reporting, governance, and performance management processes for the Connected Products business.
• Develop capabilities for revenue forecasting, customer programs and rebates, sourcing and inventory planning, standard costing, and purchase price variance management.
• Partner with Connected Water, Connected Security, Technology, commercial, engineering, product, and operations leaders on investments, resource allocation, and growth strategies.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting while balancing long-term capability building with short-term business commitments.
• Deliver financial insights to senior and executive stakeholders and support decision-making across hardware, software, subscriptions, and emerging technologies.
• Coach and develop a high-performing finance team while improving engagement, accountability, and performance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience.
• Experience with connected products, consumer technology, IoT, software-enabled hardware, SaaS, or other technology-driven businesses.
• Demonstrated success building financial capabilities, processes, and reporting structures in high-growth, emerging, or transformational environments.
• Experience balancing entrepreneurial innovation with public-company governance and financial discipline.
• Strong business partnership, influencing, executive communication, judgment, and team leadership skills.
• Ability to work in the hybrid Deerfield, Illinois schedule.

Nice to have

• MBA, CPA, or CMA.
• Experience in smart-home, security, water management, or IoT industries.
• Familiarity with SaaS, device-as-a-service, and retention or cohort modeling.
• Working knowledge of SAP, Oracle EPM, or similar systems.
