Senior Software Engineer, Solutions Engineering (Ruby on Rails)

Location: Remote, USA

Base salary: $156,000–$224,250 annually, depending on geographic zone.

What you will do

• Design complex cross-system integrations, including partner and alliance APIs.
• Define reusable templates, standards, and automation to reduce recurring operational work.
• Investigate root causes across architecture, monitoring, and processes, then drive durable fixes.
• Partner with commercial, product, and engineering stakeholders to scope solutions and make technical trade-offs.
• Mentor engineers and non-engineering contributors who write code and build automations.
• Participate in on-call rotation, triage production issues, and support internal investigations.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience writing readable, tested, and efficient production code.
• Strong Ruby on Rails experience, or exceptional backend experience with readiness to ramp up on Rails.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, APIs, service integrations, and API-driven automation workflows.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development and a quality-conscious approach to coding assistants.
• Strong debugging, optimization, SDLC, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience in solutions engineering, implementation, customer-facing technical work, mentoring, or project leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience with React or Vue.
• Experience in healthcare or another regulated, data-sensitive domain.
