Senior Software Engineer I, Core Objects (AI)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work

Salary: CA$153,815–CA$277,431 per year in base pay. Expected OTE: CA$172,000–CA$308,400 per year, including bonus or commission.

What you will do

• Build and extend Core Objects systems and features that support the customer engagement platform.
• Extend high-scale ingestion pipelines to support new and advanced data objects.
• Optimize system performance and infrastructure costs.
• Own and evolve complex backend systems underlying the product offering.
• Use AI-assisted and agentic tools to navigate the Ruby monolith, create proof of concepts, and move safely from requirements to production solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack software development experience.
• Experience as a technical leader.
• Strong understanding of software design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Previous experience working in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Professional experience building software at scale.
• Experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, React, Go, SQL, or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with distributed systems and API design, monitoring, and best practices.
• Experience with agile processes and a passion for customer experience.
