Field Service Engineer/Technician (Industrial Automation)

Location: Remote - USA; approximately 75–80% travel throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, with frequent overnight stays and extended time away from home.

Salary: $80,000–$110,000 annually

What you will do

• Install, start up, commission, repair, upgrade, and maintain industrial equipment at customer facilities.
• Troubleshoot and program PLCs and automation controls.
• Diagnose electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and controls issues.
• Train customer operators and maintenance personnel.
• Document service activities, programming changes, and installation reports.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and technical drawings while maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial, controls engineering, engineering technology, or a related field for the Field Service Engineer path.
• Associate degree or technical certificate in a related field for the Field Service Technician path, or a high school diploma/GED with 7+ years of relevant industrial experience.
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and technical drawings.
• Ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, work around machinery, and lift up to 50 lbs independently.

• Microsoft Office proficiency.
