Senior Engineer, High Voltage Project Engineer

Location: 100% remote from anywhere in the United States; Salt Lake City, Utah office address. Travel and fieldwork required 25%. Projects are located across the country, including wind projects nationwide and PV/BESS projects on the West Coast.

Salary: $138,250–$146,500 USD/year, plus annual bonus.

What you will do

• Oversee the execution of high-voltage projects, including collector substations, transmission lines, and switchyards from 35kV to 500kV.
• Coordinate engineering deliverables across internal teams, EPC contractors, vendors, utilities, interconnection providers, and other external parties.
• Review EPC engineering designs for compliance with interconnection agreements, reliability standards, industry practices, and project documentation.
• Coordinate power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, harmonics, transient overvoltage, and insulation coordination studies.
• Support substation commissioning by reviewing apparatus testing and coordinating testing with utilities and independent system operators.
• Work with real estate, permitting, interconnection, legal, finance, and construction teams on field projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or another engineering discipline.
• At least 18 months of engineering experience.
• At least 18 months of experience in Protection and Control engineering, technical report writing, design package preparation, substation physical design, equipment specification, and vendor coordination.
• Knowledge of engineering standards including IEEE, NEC, and ANSI.
• At least 6 months of experience with AutoCAD or Bluebeam for electrical drafting.
• Must be able to work remotely from within the United States and travel for fieldwork approximately 25% of the time.
