Senior Engineer (SCADA)

Location: Dorchester, Massachusetts, United States. Hybrid schedule with at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays; employees must be able to work up to five days in the office when required. Travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire, emergency restoration assignments, and occasional to significant travel by car may be required.

Annual salary: $129,450–$143,830, plus potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Maintain source records and provide support for the Distribution SCADA system.
• Plan, develop, schedule, troubleshoot, test, and commission SCADA integrations involving RTUs and field devices.
• Develop, validate, and maintain power system models used by EMS network applications.
• Configure SCADA databases, control mappings, alarms, and messaging; analyze DNP3 communications and network issues using tools such as Wireshark.
• Support grid modernization projects from planning and regulatory filings through implementation and performance verification.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, documentation, and project schedules while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Five to eight years of related engineering experience.
• High proficiency with SCADA applications, including configuration, database development, control mapping, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with DNP3, point mapping, control configuration, alarm analysis, and messaging analytics.
• Ability to work independently on complex engineering projects and collaborate across departments.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring immigration-related sponsorship to start employment will not be considered.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of utility power systems and power-related software.
• Familiarity with SCADA/EMS, GE systems, and other communication protocols such as LG or Harris.
