Maintenance Tech II

Location: OPS-Katy, Katy, Texas, United States; onsite role

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, inspect, perform preventive maintenance on, troubleshoot, and repair conveyors, automation, robotics, and ancillary equipment.
• Diagnose equipment failures, correct malfunctions, document maintenance issues in logs and CMMS, and analyze production delays and spoilage causes.
• Maintain operating records for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other facility systems.
• Assemble and test equipment, verify corrective actions, and support facility repairs and building improvement projects.
• Oversee assigned projects, including minor renovations, inventory management, contractor coordination, and building efficiency improvements.
• Mentor maintenance personnel and provide guidance and training to junior engineers and lower-level technicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience repairing and maintaining forklifts, conveyors, and general equipment, including troubleshooting complex equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot inputs, outputs, and PLC logic systems; basic proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to operate industrial lift and material-handling equipment and work safely with Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash procedures, and PPE.
• Ability to work overtime and respond to on-call requests; the role involves standing for 8–12 hours, lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally, and working at heights and on ladders.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% within and outside the state and learn newly installed equipment.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or an equivalent field.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program or current trade certification.
