Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Manufacturing)

Location: Tonawanda, New York, United States; onsite plant role with any shift, overtime, weekends, holidays, and call-ins as required

Starting pay: $39.59–$41.67 per hour. An additional US-specific pay notice lists $40.81–$42.96.

What you will do

• Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical power systems and related industrial equipment.
• Diagnose and correct mechanical malfunctions involving pumps, cylinders, piping, plumbing, hydraulics, gear reducers, and similar components.
• Use mechanical tools, hand tools, portable power tools, machine tools, and testing equipment.
• Define job scopes for new equipment installations, equipment modifications, and system upgrades.
• Support plant operations through shift coverage, overtime, weekends, holidays, and call-ins.
• Follow safety, environmental health, security, and corporate procedures.

Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
• High school diploma, GED, or higher, completed and verified before starting.
• At least five years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of mechanical power systems, hydraulic components, tools, equipment, and instrumentation.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems and interpret measurement instruments.
• Must be at least 18 years old and medically qualified to wear respiratory protection, including passing fit testing.

Nice to have

• Two-year degree in mechanical technology or an apprenticeship certificate in a mechanical or industrial field.
• At least one year of experience with turning, milling, or welding equipment.
• Knowledge of hoists, cranes, lift trucks, welding and cutting equipment, and mechanical or hydraulic power transmission components.
• Basic computer knowledge and effective communication skills.
• Ability and desire to work as a multi-skilled mechanical craftsperson.
