Maintenance Mechanic (Industrial Maintenance)

Location: Farmington, New York, USA; onsite at the Farmington facility

Salary: $28–$30 per hour

What you will do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, power transmission systems, hydraulic balers, granulators, air compressors, docks, doors, and dock levelers.
• Repair and replace motors, gearboxes, chain drives, rollers, belts, air-handling components, and equipment guarding.
• Repair building plumbing and install or maintain black iron, plastic, brass, copper, and rubber piping and tubing systems.
• Troubleshoot and replace electrical circuits and components, including motors, fuses, breakers, contactors, sensors, control wiring, transformers, and lighting systems.
• Read schematics and drawings and use electrical test devices safely.
• Safely rig and move equipment using chain falls, hoists, forklifts, and tele-handlers.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience maintaining and repairing material-handling equipment and powered industrial trucks.
• Ability to safely use lifting equipment, chains, straps, and electrical test devices.
• Ability to read schematics and drawings and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Must work onsite at the Farmington, New York facility.

Nice to have

• A.S. in Engineering Technology, equivalent education, or vocational training in a related field.
• Welding certification.
• Material-handling equipment operator certifications.
• Rigging and equipment-moving experience.
• Electrical safety or NFPA 70E training.
