Maintenance Technician III (CNC Manufacturing)

Location: Aurora, Illinois, United States; on-site manufacturing facility. Full-time second shift: 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, with an overnight option from 10:00 PM–6:00 AM. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.

Salary: $30–$34 per hour, depending on skills, plus eligible shift differential.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control-system issues on production and facility equipment.
• Provide primary second-shift maintenance support, with a strong focus on CNC equipment reliability and rapid breakdown response.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, verify equipment operation, and support reliability initiatives to reduce downtime.
• Document labor, parts, repairs, and troubleshooting activities in the CMMS and communicate equipment status to production, engineering, and management.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, capital projects, spare-parts management, vendors, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Follow LOTO, PPE, and other safety requirements while assisting and mentoring less experienced technicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5–10 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience troubleshooting CNC and industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Experience using CMMS or computerized maintenance work-order systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Strong independent troubleshooting skills and working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Nice to have

• Technical degree, apprenticeship, or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, electrical technology, or a related field.
• Experience with automated manufacturing equipment and facility utility systems.
• Forklift, boom lift, or scissor lift certification.
