Cement Laboratory Technician

What you will do

• Conduct cement, water, and oilfield chemical tests using chromatography, spectroscopy, microscopy, physical separation, and chemical separation methods.
• Operate cement consistometers, ovens, water baths, benchtop rheometers, water analysis kits, and other laboratory equipment.
• Prepare cement mixtures and chemical solutions according to standard formulas and customer specifications.
• Collaborate with Cement Engineers on customer-specific cement mixes, experimental design, new processes, and technical support.
• Compile and interpret test data, write technical reports, enter results into databases, and monitor product quality.
• Maintain laboratory inventory, cleanliness, equipment sterilization, safety compliance, and replenishment supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to learn analytical, scientific, and work-related software; proficiency with Microsoft 365, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, mathematical, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to learn and follow laboratory safety and chemical handling procedures and comply with HSE requirements.
• Ability to work 12+ hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to perform physical duties including climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
