Laboratory Technician I - Sample Custodian (Environmental)

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina, United States; onsite laboratory role

Salary: $19.00–$22.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Receive environmental samples and shipments according to standard operating procedures.
• Document sample and test information in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Check labeling, volume, preservation, holding times, and rush requests, escalating discrepancies to the Project Management Team.
• Label, preserve, store, archive, dispose of, and ship samples, bottle kits, and air-sampling media.
• Support sample pickups, field sampling, and daily field-sampling schedules when needed.
• Participate in focus teams aimed at improving operational efficiency.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state-issued driver's license for operating company vehicles.
• Proficiency with computers and database software, including accurate LIMS data entry.
• Effective oral and written communication, independent decision-making, multitasking, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to pass a screening drug test.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds several times per day and more than 20 pounds overhead; occasional shifts may last up to 12 hours.
