Plant Operator

Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin, United States; onsite plant-floor role.

Salary: $23.50 per hour

What you will do

• Operate equipment for handling and producing packaged high-pressure and liquefied gas cylinders.
• Load, unload, sort, roll, and move cylinders using carts, pallets, and forklifts.
• Prepare cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling, including manifold connection and evacuation.
• Inspect, label, fill, and maintain cylinders according to government, hirify.global, and distributor standards.
• Complete safety checks, quality-control sheets, inventory checks, and documentation for DOT, FDA, and OSHA standards.
• Maintain a clean work area and uphold hazardous-material handling and cylinder-gas safety requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and cylinder labels.
• Ability to perform basic calculations, including rates, ratios, percentages, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift; training may be provided.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, and work with tools and controls.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 60 pounds and move up to 800 pounds with material-handling equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, filling, or loading operations.
• Familiarity with the gas, welding, safety-supply, or chemical industry.
• Strong communication, customer-service, collaboration, attention-to-detail, and precision skills.
