Director, Multiomics Bioinformatics

Location: US - California - San Diego; onsite

Base salary: $205,100–$307,700 per year, plus eligible variable cash compensation and equity.

What you will do

• Define and execute bioinformatics strategy across the multiomics portfolio, including single-cell, spatial biology, proteomics, epigenomics, and emerging technologies.
• Establish the long-term vision for customer-facing informatics experiences and end-to-end product workflows.
• Drive innovation in analysis methods, AI-enabled workflows, and next-generation multiomics capabilities.
• Lead, develop, and grow a team of bioinformatics scientists and engineers.
• Lead programs from concept through commercial launch and partner with Product Management, Assay Development, Software Engineering, Clinical Development, and Commercial organizations.
• Represent Bioinformatics in technology roadmaps and investment-priority decisions.

Requirements

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, Genomics, or a related scientific discipline, with 10+ years of relevant experience preferred; alternatively, a bachelor's degree with at least 18 years of related experience.
• At least 10 years of management experience and demonstrated leadership of complex bioinformatics organizations and programs.
• Track record of delivering customer-facing software, analytical methods, or informatics products, including support for commercial launches.
• Experience leading cross-functional product development initiatives.
• Strong understanding of NGS, genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, or related multiomics technologies.
• Experience with cloud-scale informatics platforms, AI/ML technologies, large-scale biological data analysis, communication, and stakeholder management.
