What you will do

• Set the strategy for computational sciences and AI-enabled drug discovery across synthetic molecule CMC and development sciences.
• Lead a global computational chemistry team of 10–12 scientists and provide matrixed leadership across the broader modeling community.
• Direct project intake, capacity planning, scope, timelines, and decision points for small-molecule discovery programs.
• Guide the development, piloting, implementation, and broader adoption of computational models across drug discovery and early clinical development.
• Build research collaborations with academic and technology partners and align work with discovery, development, and information research functions.
• Develop and motivate scientific talent while resolving cross-functional, resource, and research challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with typically 18+ years of related experience, master’s degree with typically 16+ years, or PhD with typically 12+ years, including management of scientific research teams.
• Expertise in computational methodologies, quantum mechanics, atomistic molecular simulations, molecular dynamics, AI, and machine learning.
• Strong record of people, technical, and research project management with significant impact.
• High-impact scientific achievements and a robust publication record.
• Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration, executive communication, and leadership across multiple stakeholders.
• Role based in North Chicago, Illinois, United States.
