Field Claims Representative – NE Birmingham, AL (Property and Casualty Insurance)

Location: Must live in or near Birmingham, Gadsden, or Anniston, Alabama, United States. Hybrid work-from-home flexibility may be available after initial in-person training, based on job responsibilities and leadership approval.

What you will do

• Investigate claims, assemble facts, determine policy coverage, evaluate losses, and analyze legal liability.
• Handle multi-line property and casualty claims in an assigned territory, with emphasis on property claims.
• Review insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to determine applicable coverage.
• Work toward claim resolution and participate in arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials when necessary.
• Conduct investigations by phone, mail, and on-site visits, and ensure accurate, timely claim payments.

Requirements

• Must live in or near Birmingham, Gadsden, or Anniston, Alabama.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent direct experience handling property and casualty claims.
• At least three years of experience handling multi-line property and casualty claims, with emphasis on property claims.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, organization, data interpretation, and complex problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, work with diverse individuals, and perform mathematical calculations involving geometry, sums, and unit costs.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship and hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

• Knowledge of Xactimate software.
