Maintenance Mechanic Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Jackson, Alabama, United States; on-site at the Jackson Mill

Salary: $35.24 per hour starting rate

What you will do

• Complete preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions using diagrams, manuals, engineering specifications, and precision testing instruments.
• Dismantle equipment, inspect defective parts, adjust components, and fabricate repair parts using machine-shop equipment.
• Monitor equipment condition, reduce production downtime, and advise production workers on preventive maintenance practices.
• Manage maintenance equipment, parts, and supplies inventories, including ordering and receipt verification.
• Prepare mechanical maintenance reports and maintain a safe, clean work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of documented work experience and current employment as a maintenance mechanic required.
• A two-year applicable technology degree, military maintenance-mechanic experience, or a two-year apprenticeship may count toward part of the experience requirement.
• Ability and willingness to work shifts and weekends.
• Strong commitment to safety required.
• Successful candidates must complete five timed written tests and a structured four-person board interview.
