Product Development, Design & Consumer Insights Co-op Opportunities

Location: Needham, Massachusetts, United States; full-time, 40-hour-per-week onsite-hybrid schedule required. Specific location and onsite days vary by team and term.

Salary: $26–$35 USD per hour.

What you will do

• Contribute to product launches from early research and concept development through production and retail launch.
• Translate consumer insights into product, industrial design, CMF, UX/UI, and customer experience decisions.
• Create sketches, illustrations, renderings, prototypes, wireframes, design specifications, and production-ready CAD files depending on the team.
• Conduct product testing, usability sessions, competitive research, culinary testing, and consumer research.
• Present concepts, findings, and recommendations to cross-functional partners and design leaders, incorporating feedback.
• Own a meaningful project end to end and present contributions to hirify.global leaders.

Requirements

• Current student in, or graduate within the past year of, a related bachelor's, master's, or PhD program such as industrial design, product design, UX/UI, mechanical engineering, marketing, market research, psychology, sociology, culinary arts, food science, business, or communications.
• Availability for a full-time, 40-hour-per-week onsite-hybrid schedule in the United States.
• Consumer-first perspective, curiosity about how people use products, and strong visual and verbal storytelling skills.
• Hands-on, resourceful approach with attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to synthesize complex input into clear recommendations and collaborate in brainstorms, critiques, and reviews.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice to have

• Experience with SolidWorks, Creo, Rhino, KeyShot, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
• Prototyping, 3D printing, machine shop, plastic or metal fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of color and materials standards such as Pantone, NCS, SPI, YickSang, or Mold-Tech.
• Understanding of electronics, accessibility, responsive design, connected consumer products, smart home technology, or IoT ecosystems.
• Prior internship, co-op, studio, kitchen, research, food service, recipe testing, culinary R&D, or personal project experience.
