Industrial Designer (Starlink)

Location: Bastrop, TX; onsite and not remote or hybrid. Relocation is required for candidates outside the Austin, TX area.

What you will do

• Translate design strategy into technically feasible and visually compelling industrial design concepts.
• Rapidly ideate, prototype, and iterate through 3D printing, physical mockups, and testing.
• Solve ergonomic, mechanical, usability, and aesthetic challenges across consumer hardware products.
• Create high-fidelity surface models, renderings, and detailed component designs.
• Guide design decisions from concept through production while collaborating with engineering and cross-functional teams.
• Improve prototyping processes, tools, and capabilities to accelerate development and testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, transportation design, product design, architecture, or a related discipline.
• At least 1 year of professional experience in industrial or transportation design; 3+ years preferred.
• Professional proficiency with 3D modeling tools such as NX, Rhino, or SolidWorks.
• Strong visualization, sketching, graphic communication, prototyping, manufacturing, and assembly skills.
• A strong visual portfolio is mandatory for consideration.
• Must meet applicable U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain required authorizations.
