What you will do

• Design new products from initial concepts through production.
• Develop clear visual concepts and communicate design intent through high-quality CAD.
• Create continuous prototypes, from quick mockups to refined cosmetic models.
• Test designs with users and incorporate findings into the design process.
• Refine the hardware user experience, including unboxing and maintenance.
• Collaborate with Product, UI Design, Engineering, and Manufacturing on balanced solutions and cosmetic validation.

Requirements

• Robust portfolio of relevant industrial design work; a portfolio or website is required for application.
• Completed degree in Industrial Design; related design or engineering degrees are also considered.
• Strong aesthetic judgment, attention to detail, and effective hand-sketching skills.
• Ability to use 3D CAD, KeyShot, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Comfort with a variety of prototyping methods and solving problems within engineering and manufacturability constraints.
• Available for a full-time, six-month fellowship onsite in Somerville, Massachusetts.
