Substance Abuse Counselor

Salary: $22.00–$25.00 per hour plus bonus structure

What you will do

• Provide individual and group counseling for patients recovering from drug and alcohol disorders.
• Build trusting relationships and support patients throughout intake, orientation, and recovery.
• Develop, update, and maintain individualized treatment plans and accurate patient records.
• Assess patients’ social, educational, economic, and vocational needs and connect them with community resources.
• Follow up on referrals, respond to crisis situations, and complete required documentation.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• MAADC, CRADC, or CADC certification required.
• Must meet state-level requirements.
• Knowledge of substance abuse treatment planning, human behavior, and human social services.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive issues with sound judgment.
• Ability to work with patients and colleagues in stressful situations and seek supervisory guidance when needed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, including prolonged standing, bending, keyboarding, and potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.

• Experience in behavioral health.
