Substance Abuse Counselor (Behavioral Health)

Location: On-site in Westerly, Rhode Island, USA

Salary: $24.00–$29.00 per hour plus bonus structure

What you will do

• Conduct individual alcohol and drug abuse counseling and group sessions.
• Assess patients’ social, educational, economic, and vocational needs.
• Develop and revise treatment plans and maintain comprehensive records.
• Provide intake, readmission, supportive follow-up, crisis intervention, and referrals.
• Coordinate care with community providers and support treatment program operations.
• Perform OBOT services, participate in required training, and comply with regulatory and accrediting standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in human services or a related field.
• One of the following credentials is required: CAC I, CAC II, CADC I, CADC II, LADC, or LCDP.
• Knowledge of substance use disorders, treatment planning, human behavior, and social services.
• Ability to make effective decisions, handle confidential and sensitive issues, and respond appropriately in stressful situations.
• Ability to comply with federal and state requirements for certification, licensure, and education.
• Behavioral health experience is preferred but not required.
