Data Center Technician 1

What you will do

• Provide proactive customer support by phone, email, face-to-face interaction, and case management systems.
• Handle trouble tickets and remote hands requests from creation through resolution.
• Support customer installations, testing, circuit deployment, hardware and software support, and site expansions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot business-critical infrastructure, alarms, security systems, and facility systems, escalating issues when required.
• Perform security walkthroughs, manage visitor sign-in procedures, escort authorized personnel, and enforce facility security standards.
• Maintain chain-of-custody records, inventory, cabling standards, facility cleanliness, tour readiness, and accurate time records.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–4 years of experience or demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities; previous NOC, SOC, IOC, or data center experience is relevant.
• Familiarity with DS1, DS3, Ethernet, dark fiber, data center infrastructure, electrical diagrams, and network or power monitoring.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule, handle critical infrastructure emergencies, assess situations, and escalate according to procedures.
• Reliable transportation, dependability, independent working ability, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to run cable, climb ladders, and lift at least 50 lbs.

Nice to have

• Basic hardware troubleshooting experience, including replacing hard drives, memory, and motherboards.
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems on PC and server sides.
