What you will do
- Supervise daily activities and resource levels for drivers across packaged-gas distribution sites.
- Coordinate distribution planning, holiday and sickness cover, customer visits, and communication with planners and operational teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety legislation, company policies, O'Licence requirements, tachograph rules, truck maintenance, and transport records.
- Coordinate Driver CPC, ADR, HGV, forklift, and annual driving-assessment training.
- Monitor local costs, key performance indicators, vehicle downtime, driver observations, vehicle reports, and customer complaints.
- Support recruitment, appraisals, grievances, disciplinary matters, industrial relations, and accident-emergency responses.
Requirements
- Previous distribution experience with working knowledge of transport legislation.
- Experience supervising a team and managing drivers across multiple sites.
- Experience building relationships with industrial-relations representatives.
- HND, degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- PC skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence, large goods vehicle licence, ADR, and driver CPC or forklift qualifications are preferred.
