What you will do

• Write news stories and headlines for WREG.com and other digital platforms.
• Break news quickly, edit and publish video clips, and repurpose television scripts and video.
• Promote content across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, the website, and other social platforms.
• Monitor page views, video views, email, social media, and other sources for story leads and audience insights.
• Coordinate with television reporters and producers to publish accurate information across platforms.
• Build digital campaigns for local shows and specials and develop new ways to engage viewers.

Requirements

• Degree in journalism and experience in television, daily newspapers, or online news sites.
• Knowledge of Associated Press style and SEO is required.
• Ability to research background information, verify facts, and maintain journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Ability to work cooperatively, respond positively to feedback, and make decisions independently.
• Availability to work morning, night, or weekend shifts as needed.

Nice to have

• Working web samples or print pages.
• Proficiency with WordPress.
