Writing Associate Producer, MS NOW The Briefing with Jen Psaki

Location: Hybrid role based in New York, NY, or Washington, D.C.; unrestricted authorization to work in the United States is required.

Salary: $75,000–$80,000 yearly

What you will do

• Write, edit, and produce vertical video content for social media platforms.
• Develop original YouTube content from concept through completion and create daily and long-term video pitches.
• Adapt compelling moments from linear programming for digital platforms, including MS NOW social channels and direct-to-consumer products.
• Create graphics, carousels, thumbnails, headlines, scripts, lower-third banner chyrons, and other editorial content.
• Collaborate with producers, assignment editors, booking teams, graphics, research, digital, and technical operations during daily broadcasts and breaking-news coverage.
• Develop new social media franchises and content formats to grow audience engagement and strengthen the show’s brand.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of journalism experience in television news, digital journalism, social media editing, producing, writing, or a comparable newsroom or newspaper environment.
• Experience editing and producing original digital video, with strong scriptwriting and editorial judgment.
• Strong understanding of major social media platforms, their audiences, and platform-specific content strategies.
• Strong research, writing, organizational, communication, and multitasking skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during breaking news and special events.

• Experience working with graphics and video elements.
• Interest in U.S. politics, current events, and breaking news.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven newsroom.
