Tooling Manager (Molding Technology)

Location: Onsite at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility; the role includes office work, standing, and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.

Salary: $111,828–$151,668 annually, plus eligibility for a quarterly incentive pay program.

What you will do

• Manage tooling engineering, toolroom operations, tooling engineers, and support staff.
• Lead tooling improvement, mold design, new product development, and manufacturability projects.
• Maintain tooling specifications, engineering documents, 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and revision control.
• Plan and direct preventive maintenance, repairs, service activities, vendor work, and equipment installations.
• Drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, process sustainability, mistake-proofing, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Hire, train, mentor, evaluate, and develop department personnel while managing performance metrics and project resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, chemical, plastics, polymer processing, materials, or an equivalent background in tooling and mold development.
• Experience in tooling engineering and toolroom management.
• Ability to use 3D drafting software; experience with simulation software, material flow, material cure, and material characterization.
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience with root cause analysis techniques.
• Ability to mentor, motivate, and develop subordinate employees.
• Project management experience covering scope, schedule, cost, risk, resources, and change management.

Nice to have

• Tooling engineering, procurement, or design experience.
• Six Sigma, Red X, or other problem-solving certification or experience.
• Experience working cross-functionally across all organizational levels.
• Experience with reaction injection molding, APG, silicone, or epoxy molding.
