Process Engineer II (Lean Manufacturing)

Location: Bolingbrook, Illinois, United States; onsite shop-floor work required

Salary: $83,000–$85,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus

What you will do

• Improve manufacturing processes, material replenishment systems, workflow, equipment performance, and resource utilization.
• Lead Lean Engineering events and cross-functional initiatives that improve standardization, stability, and process efficiency.
• Design, implement, test, and modify production and service processes, including prototypes and manufacturing systems.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions using visual management, 5S, SMED, waste reduction, Kanban, line balancing, and Gemba practices.
• Analyze facility layouts, equipment requirements, workflow, and supplier materials to improve safety, security, quality, sustainability, productivity, and cost.
• Oversee the installation and start-up of new equipment and processes while providing technical input to production and clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a combination of relevant college education.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or quality engineering in an industrial environment.
• Proven team leadership and facilitation skills, with the ability to drive change and hold stakeholders accountable.
• Practical knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and manufacturing process technologies.
• Computer proficiency and experience with general engineering software, manufacturing equipment, and systems.
• Regular shop-floor presence is required, including standing, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, stooping, lifting up to 30 pounds, and occasional overtime.

• Strong practical experience in a Lean manufacturing environment.
