Senior Software Engineer - Platform Engineering (AI)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid model requiring 3 days a week in the office

Salary: $176,000–$191,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and ship AI-native developer tooling, including context aggregation solutions, MCPs, CLIs, skills, and sub-agents.
• Build integrations that provide AI coding tools with reliable access to codebases, services, and internal systems.
• Develop AI-assisted workflows for code generation, code review, testing, documentation, refactoring, and incident management.
• Contribute to pre-review and triage tooling, automated policy checks, and standards for reviewing AI-generated code.
• Optimize AI usage and costs by abstracting model selection and routing tasks to appropriate models.
• Scope, design, document, and ship developer platforms in partnership with platform, infrastructure, and application teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including recent hands-on work with LLM-based tooling such as agents, MCP servers, or coding assistants.
• Direct experience integrating AI tools into development workflows such as code review, testing, code generation, or documentation.
• Strong system design skills and experience owning tools or platforms from design through adoption.
• Experience with developer tooling, internal platforms, CI/CD systems, APIs, webhooks, or message-based integrations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work in the New York office 3 days per week.

• Experience with Java/JVM or Python.
• Experience bringing emerging AI-assisted development practices into engineering organizations.
