Staff Software Engineer (AI-Native Platform)

What you will do

• Lead technical initiatives spanning multiple teams, products, and business domains.
• Define architecture for large-scale distributed systems, including APIs, event-driven systems, cloud infrastructure, reliability, security, and observability.
• Design and evolve AI development practices and support the creation of AI-powered products, including production AI systems and agentic workflows.
• Build reusable engineering platforms, frameworks, libraries, and patterns that improve development speed, quality, and consistency.
• Establish engineering standards for automated testing, continuous delivery, AI evaluation, operational excellence, incident response, resiliency, governance, and cost optimization.
• Mentor senior engineers and technical leaders while influencing decisions through technical expertise rather than direct authority.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing and building production software systems, including large-scale technical initiatives.
• Deep experience with cloud-native distributed systems, software architecture, platform design, APIs, and highly available systems.
• Experience designing and operating production AI systems, including LLM-powered applications and agentic workflows.
• Experience creating shared platforms or infrastructure adopted by multiple teams and establishing organization-wide engineering standards.
• Understanding of AI evaluation, model selection, latency optimization, cost management, observability, governance, and safety.
• Strong communication, systems thinking, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or Databricks.
• Experience with C#/.NET, Python, TypeScript, Go, or Java.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, CDK, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Experience with platform modernization, cloud migrations, or highly regulated industries such as financial services, insurance, or healthcare.
